Wacken Metal Chorus - News
Last week the W:O:A Metal Chorus, a contest for all the creative Metalheads, started!
At the W:O:A Metal Chorus you can record an own performance of this year’s Wacken hymn „Wacken Will Never Die“ and upload the video on Wackentube.
Chris Boltendahl (Grave Digger) became aware of our campaign and asks the 5 winners to perform the Wacken hymn together with himself and Skyline live at W:O:A!!!
Consequently the winners of the W:O:A Metal Chorus will not perform at the Metal karaoke as planned,
but they will sing the refrain of the Wacken hymn together with Chris Boltendahl during the opening show on Thursday on the Black Stage!
An independent jury will judge the 5 fanciest, funniest and most creative videos of the participants. You can still engage in the W:O:A Metal Chorus until the 15th of July 2011.
Important: One condition for participation is the ownership of a valid festival ticket!

W:O:A Metal Masters 2011 winner is Pneum
After 3 months the 2nd W:O:A Metal Masters ended yesterday and we got a new winner which will play live on Wacken 2011!
After a neck-and-neck race with “GOD THE HORDE” the central american band “Pneuma” won the fan voted competition.
“Pneuma” is a Thrash/Death Metal band from Costa Rica in Central America and they have already earned a lot of fame in their homeland. The guys already opened for bands like Metallica or Mastodon and will now play for the first time at the Wacken Open Air.

W:O:A Metal Masters Winner – MacBeth
Today we are able to announce the winner of the W:O:A Metal Masters voting. MacBeth from Erfurt/Germany won the contest with the video of their song “Das Boot” and there with a slot on the W:O:A W.E.T.-Stage.

Wackentube - addition to the family
Dear Metal Masters fans,
lately we unfortunately recognized accounts created with disposable email addresses (f.e. @yopmail.com or @trash-mail.com) used for the massive distortion of the online voting on wackentube.com (overall these are some 1000 accounts created in less than 30 second intervals).
Sadly there are still some people that don’t play fair. We cannot prevent people from creating more accounts with e.g. a second email address to vote more often. It is difficult to find out which account belongs to the similar person. But if it is as obvious as it was in this case, we will act.
Therefore, we deleted every account created with major disposable addresses and the associated votes. In addition to this, we implemented a barrier for the use of such addresses. If we notice any other accounts created with other disposable addresses, we will again delete these accounts and votes.
We think to have acted the right way for every user and hope for a fair voting. Further on, we hope you enjoy W:O:A Metal Masters on www.wackentube.com
